I participate in several meetups in Portuguese here in NY. For others nearby, please check these out! They are a great way to practice your Portuguese in New York City.

O Círculo do Livro – Portuguese Language Book Club Here’s your chance to read a book in Portuguese and the discuss with fellow Portuguese speakers! Club meets monthly, more or less. And here’s my review of one of the book-club meetings: O Círculo do Livro em NYC
The Americas Society hosts a whole lot of Latin American events, and I’ve been to some great ones, like the visit from the acclaimed Brazilian novelist Nélida Piñon and the prolific Brazilian movie director,Carlos Diegues along with actress Zezé Motta. That was such a kick–I love his movies and she was great in them!
