This masterpiece of the Brazilian conto was written by Machado de Assis, who is known all over Brazil for his brilliant story-telling. The file is almost 18 minutes of  “Missa do Galo e Outros Contos, Vol 1.“– the first conto, “Missa do Galo.” The story is told in Portuguese.
